Omar is a brilliant guide, knowledgeable, friendly and doesn't talk too much. He was with us for 3 days of our 10 day trip to Morocco in celebration of my 70th birthday. The walks he guided were enjoyable and interesting without being too strenuous. As is true of a lot of guides; don't believe him when he tells you how much further to go!
We had a wonderful experience with Omar on our brief tour of Ait Ben Haddou. He taught us so much in a short time about the history of this UNESCO World Heritage site, the surrounding region, how different native plants were used in the original construction, and how it is used today for filmmaking. He was very responsive to our needs, really kind and friendly, and very entertaining! We were very comfortable with him, and had so much fun. He knows his so much, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He also gave me so great tips for venturing out alone later. His advice proved very useful when I hiked to the top on my own for sunset that evening. I highly recommend Omar for any tour in the region. You'll learn a lot, and have fun doing it!
Let me tell you about Omar. His knowledge and experience is an understatement. The laughter and experience he brings is undefeated. Like others have said for the price you pay it’s such a pleasure. Giving you local knowledge and experiences at a small price. He catered to all our needs and spent that extra time for my elderly father. Who was so grateful. We even invited him round for dinner because of his pure courtesy and manners. He will be the reason why I will come back to Ouarzazate. Omar was an absolutely fantastic guide throughout our 6 day, 5 night trek across the wild and beautiful Jebel Sirwa massif. From the moment he met our family (my husband, son 12 and daughter 14) at Ouarzazate airport, to the moment he left us before our minibus to Marrakesh, he was positive, fun, informative, caring and attentive to us at all times. We were also made to feel very welcome by our muleteers and cook: Abdullah, Khaleed and Hassan. The trek was challenging, but the scenery extraordinarily rugged and beautiful. We visited and stayed in remote, high azibs, climbed inside an 800 yr old fortified granary built into a cliff, camped under dramatic rock formations and enjoyed games in the camp tent with Omar and the team. I would highly recommend Omar as your guide for mountain, or desert, or any wild landscape areas in Morocco. We had an amazing 6 day trek with Omar as our guide. We climbed to 3300m over a huge volcanic massif just 100 km from Toubkal, camping every night and enjoying wonderful Moroccan hospitality and kindness from Omar, and Hassan, Abdul and Khalid (cook and muleteers).
